Time for a journal update...

I'll have some internet access over Christmas at least but for now I have too many photos to bore people with, and not enough time to upload them...

Let's start with something boring to all but myself - Oliver's first nativity play, at the age of four and a half. It was all very cute, highly religious in a Welsh way, yes I did cry, AND I actually understood a large amount of the Welsh bits! Perhaps I will relearn the language through Oliver's schooling - or at least the school related bits...



And to move on... apparently I will be churning out another child next July... Three obviously is the magic number... This is good, but terrifying, and at the moment I can't stomach tea... My second most staple drink (behind water)... I love my children, but pregnancy just involves feeling ill and being objectified and infantilised (if that's a word). I refuse to start wearing bows and referring to an undeveloped foetus as 'baby'... Bah...

Boring news aside... I have no other news... So I'll just upload some kitty pictures and try to get my brain working again on the Star Trek fiction front, before the people on fannation come and set fire to me for being unproductive...

Abby: If she’s roused to defend those she loves.
Tom: Yes, he’s quite bitter about a lot of things.

Abby: Sometimes, but she’s spent time in a convent, and learnt about how to rise above her own feelings, even if she doesn’t always.
Tom: Yes. He feels incapable of helping his family.

Tom: Follower, for now, but can be a leader when he needs to be.

Abby: She tries to be good, but she can’t help but rebel if she doesn’t believe in what she is told to do.
Tom: Again, he tries to be good, but has a tendency towards jealousy.


HISTORY

Abby: She has a mother, Lydia, and a father, Adam. She also has a twin brother called Tom, that she loves dearly. As to whether they’re alive – one of them is at the start of the book, but isn’t any more.
Tom: Ditto, essentially.

2. Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why?
Abby: By the end of the book she’s very alone in some ways, but she’s also made some good friends.
Tom: Also quite alone in some ways by the end, but under the wing of people who aren’t necessarily good for him.

Abby: Yes, very. The death of a family member, the falling apart of her home, being sent away to a convent – and the fire, of course…
Tom: Oh, yes… Seeing a murder, being unable to keep his family together, etc etc

4. What was probably the best time in his/her life so far?
Abby: Twirling in the snow making an umbrella with magic, before all the serious stuff started to happen. And skating with Tom down the river…
Tom: The time he skated with Abby down to Ousetown.
